The HOPE Project (Helping Others Participate and Engage) supports older people (50+) to engage, participate, gain information, have their voices heard, understand their rights, make choices, be involved, share experiences, raise awareness of advocacy, and develop skills and knowledge.
HOPE will deliver advocacy support at a community level through a range of advocacy models by recruiting and then fully training and supporting project volunteers. Volunteers will be given 5-6 hours of training and be asked to attend Volunteer Support Group Meetings. Volunteers will be required to phone organisations and councillors on behalf of the client. You will also be required to send emails. Travel, out of pocket expenses & phone calls will be reimbursed.
