Volunteers are required to help out with the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, the role includes running games and activities as part of weekly section meetings and other section events. To assisting young people to achieve badges and awards and assisting with residential experiences for the section. They are also looking for a Team Leader who is responsible for organising the activities of the group, and training the youth members through the Scout program.

Age Cymru are launching a brand-new, volunteer-led, telephone listening service called Listen and Connect. This service is for older people who may be experiencing feelings of loneliness and isolation. Volunteers will provide a safe space where people are listened to and supported to explore the issues that are important to them. You will be offering a listening ear to callers from the comfort of your own home.

Upland Conservation Volunteers undertake conservation and ecology work to help restore international important habitats and also carry out basic maintenance of upland Scheduled Ancient Monuments within the Black Mountains. The volunteers are currently undertaking an Upland Peat restoration project in the Black Mountains. Work days are carried out on Wednesdays for the Upland Conservation Volunteers.
Sales Floor Volunteer (Shop) - Greeting customers, helping them find items, keeping displays tidy, supporting staff at tills, arranging stock.
Online Lister Volunteer (Homestore) - Creating product listings for the online store — writing accurate descriptions, uploading photos, categorising items.
Warehouse / Furniture Store Helper - Moving donated furniture, preparing deliveries, building flat-pack furniture, arranging stock, light warehouse tasks.
Department Coordinator Overseeing - specific departments in shops (fashion, homeware, books etc.), organising display, ensuring items are well-presented.
Community Champion Volunteer - Promoting BHF locally, organising or helping with events, speaking to groups, helping with local fundraising collections.
Action Team Member - Helping out at one-off events, community actions, possibly working from home or in the community. Flexible time commitment.
Seasonal / Temporary Shop Support - Helping out during busy periods (e.g. Christmas) in shops: stocking, assisting customers, processing donations.
Volunteers are needed to greet members of the public, helping out in the shop, digital projection training if appropriate, plus a range of other duties.
Supermarket Surplus Free Food Distribution Scheme Volunteers are needed to pick up from Supermarkets in the evenings. The Food Hub redistributes free food which is provided to us as surplus stock from local Tesco, Lidl and Co-op stores. The food is usually near to or at the end of their ‘sell by’ or ‘use by’ date (but not always) for people in the community to collect each week day.
Volunteer with Canolfan Maerdy Community Cafe Canolfan Maerdy have a Community Cafe with indoor and outdoor seating available. Open between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm, the café serves a variety of meals including breakfast, burgers, sandwiches and salads. Volunteers are needed to help with cooking, washing up, serving and other general tasks within the café.
Fundraising Events Helper
You'll be required to help set up and/or man stalls at events; help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections; help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances; promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events
Fundraising Volunteer
This flexible role lets you choose how to get involved: helping at events or street collections, running online appeals, spreading the word through marketing, handling admin like donations and Gift Aid, or even taking photos to showcase our work. You’ll be making a real difference to cats while using your skills in ways that suit you. Age requirement: 18+. (16–17s can join if supervised by an adult.)
Collection Box Fundraising Volunteer
As a Collection Box Coordinator, you’ll oversee the placement and collection of donation boxes, record and acknowledge contributions, identify new collection ‘hot spots,’ share and put fundraising ideas into action, and promote cat welfare by representing Cats Protection in your community.
Foodbank Volunteer Assistant - Volunteers are required to contribute and support the delivery of any aspects of the foodbank service under the direction and guidance of a formal volunteer. Time Required: Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 10.30-1.30pm, or any time you can offer would be gratefully received.
A volunteer is needed to provide information to visitors, making and selling light refreshments, selling publications, and recording sales. An interest in local history and heritage would be useful, ability to talk to visitors and establish their needs. Welsh speaker is an advantage but certainly not essential. The centre is open for 3 hours a day on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year (12-3pm Winter, 1-3pm Summer. Occasional special events may be held in the evenings.
Volunteer drivers. Assistance needed in the smooth running of the community minibus and car scheme mainly the Ystradgynlais area. Drivers must be over 25 and under 70 for insurance purposes.
Skylight Volunteer Crisis is looking for volunteers who are compassionate, enthusiastic, and eager to make a difference. Every volunteer role in the Skylights contributes to ending homelessness, whether through direct work with members or by supporting the office team to ensure services run smoothly. Volunteers are supported by the Skylight’s Volunteer and Involvement Lead, as well as a dedicated volunteer supervisor for their role. They work alongside others who share the same passion for ending homelessness. An impressive 98% of Crisis volunteers say they are proud to be part of the organisation. By joining, volunteers become part of a community committed to building a fairer society for everyone.
Volunteers are needed to help out with grounds work at the Nature Reserve in Pontardawe. Suitable clothing and footwear is needed. The group meets every second Wednesday of the month.
