Community Companions. Can you spare a few hours a week to offer friendship and support to someone feeling lonely or isolated, or who need help getting out and about and back in to community life. This could involve having a chat over a cup of tea, going shopping, attending a local group or even going for a walk. You will experience first-hand the real difference you can make to someone’s life. You will also receive full training, learn new skills, meet new people and be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses.
Volunteer Befriender. You can help young people to increase their confidence and self-esteem. You will be positive role model, provide a listening ear and help young people to access to the local community. One-to-one visits will take place weekly at the young person’s home or out in the community. Full training provided and out of pocket expenses reimbursed.
